Superior court decisions

The following decisions were reached in Lenoir County superior court in January, 2013. The presiding judge was the Hon. Paul L. Jones. Matters may be resolved as the result of a guilty plea or dismissal negotiated with the district attorney without a trial. Matters may also be resolved as the result of a trial during which the judge dismisses the case for insufficient evidence or renders a verdict of innocence or guilt. In any case in which a guilty plea or verdict is entered, sentencing is determined by the judge:
 
Christopher Coggins, larceny by employee, guilty, sentenced to 8-19 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Heather NMN Tyndall, indecent liberties, guilty, sentenced to 13-25 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Michael Nenni, possess stolen goods, pleaded not contest, sentenced to 120 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to six months supervised probation.
 
Ashlee Carer, possess stolen goods, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Michael Cruse, larceny, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 18 months supervised probation.
 
Jamal Baldwin, attempted larceny, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to six months supervised probation. Possess stolen goods, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 24 months supervised probation. Possess schedule VI < 1 1/2 ounce, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Christopher NMN Griffin, sex offender using social website, guilty, sentenced to 5-6 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Yvonne Riddick, larceny, guilty, sentenced to 30 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Jammie Goodman, habitual DWI, guilty, sentenced to 33-49 months in the Dept. of Correction. Driving while license revoked, guilty, sentenced to 120 days in the Dept. of Correction at expiration of previous sentence.
 
Hector Bautista, possess stolen goods, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 5-15 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Jesse NMN Wethington, larceny, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the  Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Marquise Gant, possess stolen goods, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervised probation. Resist public officer, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Thomas Mainor, possess cocaine, guilty, sentenced to 6-8 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Kamiyla Loftin, financial card fraud, guilty, sentenced to 6-17 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Tyquil Yates, breaking/entering, guilty, sentenced to 5-15 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Timothy NMN Hardison, attempt to traffic by possession, guilty, sentenced to 20-33 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation. Two counts driving while impaired, guilty, sentenced to 30 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to six months supervised probation.
 
Louann Hardison, embezzle controlled substance by employee, guilty, sentenced to 6-8 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation. Attempt to traffic by possession, guilty, sentenced to 25-39 months in the Dept. of Correction.
 
Wilbur NMN Miller, two counts embezzle controlled substances, two counts attempted trafficking, guilty, sentenced to 20-24 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation; 6-8 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Barbary Philyaw, five counts embezzle controlled substance by employee, attempt to traffic opium, guilty, sentenced to 6-8 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation; 16-20 months in the Dept. of Correction; 45 months in the Dept. of Correction; six months in the Dept. of Correction.
 
Armando Rico, DWI/driving while license revoked guilty, sentenced to 15-27 months in the Dept. of Correction.
Timothy NMN Davis, larceny, guilty, sentenced to 30 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months unsupervised probation.
 
Pablo V. Martinez, indecent liberties with minor, guilty, sentenced to 16-20 months in the Dept. of Correction.
