Richlands held Kinston to three hits in a mercy-rule shortened 19-1 win at Viking Field on Wednesday.
Will Deters was 2-for-2 with a pair of bunt singles and Taishu McLawhorn added Kinston’s other hit. The Vikings scored on Sam McLawhorn’s fielder’s choice in the fourth inning.
Ethan Horne went 5-for-5 with a double, a home run and five RBIs for Richlands.
Robert Blake gave up eight earned runs on seven hits in 1 1/3 inning in the loss. Heath Collins went four innings and gave up three hits and fanned three in the win.
Richlands scored seven runs in each the second and third innings.
Kinston (1-3) will play North Pitt at 7 p.m. on Friday at Grainger Stadium.

EAST CARTERET 10, KINSTON 1: At East Carteret, the Vikings were defeated soundly in the non-conference match.
Mitzi Flores scored on an assist from Becky Irvin for the Vikings, who fell to 0-5 on the season.
Kinston travels to Goldsboro on Friday.
