Thousands of Kinstonians witnessed history Saturday at the Dean E. Smith Center on the campus of UNC when they watched the boys and girls basketball teams from Kinston High School win 2A state basketball championships. For the boys, it was the fourth title in six years; for the girls, it was the first in city history. Complete coverage of the championship games will be in Sunday's Free Press.

The Kinston boys basketball team is arriving at the high school at approximately 8:30-9 p.m. and are asking for fans to meet them at the school to celebrate!
