Blake Toler tripled drove in two runs and Shane Hardison went the distance as Pamlico defeated South Lenoir 6-2 to open the Ray Avery Easter Tournament at Ayden-Grifton on Saturday.
The Hurricanes scored three runs in the fourth inning and Hardison held the Blue Devils (4-6) to two unearned runs on five hits with seven strikeouts.
Cody Ladich went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs and Garrett Holland, Jake Villabona and Will Graves each singled for South Lenoir, which play the host Chargers at 4 p.m. on Monday.
Justin Howard suffered the loss. He gave up four earned runs on six hits in 3 2/3 innings.
