Brandon Ingram officially has options.

The standout Kinston High hoopster worked out in front of Wake Forest and UNC representatives on Wednesday, and at the conclusion of the workout Ingram was offered an athletic scholarship to play basketball for the Demon Deacons, he told The Free Press in a text message.

The formal offer comes nearly two months after N.C. State’s. Now, the sophomore who won’t graduate until 2015 and doesn’t yet have his learner’s driving permit has the choice of having his college career paid for by two major Division I basketball programs.

Ingram, who went from the workout to driver’s education class, couldn’t be reached for comment. He averaged 12.7 points and four rebounds per game last season to help the Vikings go 28-2 and win their final 19 games, including a 56-53 win over the Cavaliers in the title game.

There will be more offers to come; for now Ingram has no idea what he’s going to do.

The night news broke that Kinston native Reggie Bullock was foregoing his senior year at UNC for the NBA draft, Ingram tweeted, “Wonder when I’ll make my college decision, most certainly won’t be this year(.)”

And Ingram’s offer from Wake Forest most certainly won’t be his last.
