Austin Batchelor went 4-for-5 and Chandler Barrow drove in three runs as Greene Central’s baseball team knocked off host Farmville Central 8-4 in eight innings on Friday.
Austin Mooring went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two doubles. Barrow went 3-for-5 and Batchelor added an RBI and had a double.
Ben Brann earned the win in relief. He gave up one hit, walked one and struck out two in a scoreless seventh and eighth.
The Rams (12-7, 9-2 Eastern Plains 2A) host North Pitt at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
KINSTON 6, TARBORO 0: At Grainger Stadium, the Vikings picked up their second straight EP2A win.
Taishu McLawhorn and Sam McLawhorn had two hits each while five different players scored runs for Kinston. Damien Williams had two RBIs and Will Deters, Sam McLawhorn and Octavius Howell had an RBI each.
Deters pitched seven strong shutout innings, scattering six hits to go along with 10 strikeouts. With the bases loaded in the seventh Deters struck out the side to preserve the shutout.
The Vikings (6-14, 2-9) will host SouthWest Edgecombe on Friday at Viking Field.
