Parrott Academy shot a school-record 275 and capped a perfect season in conference play by winning the Eastern Plains Independent Conference championship at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary on Tuesday.
Tournament champion Wes Simmons shot a 66, followed by 69s from EPIC Player of the Year Jack Sides and Riley Davis. Matt Simmons rounded out the scoring with a 71.
The Patriots went 28-0 in league play this year. Wes Simmons and Davis earned all-conference honors along with Matt Simmons and James Stroud.
Parrott will compete in the NCISAA 3A state tournament May 13-14 at Bryan Park in Greensboro.
GIRLS SOCCER
KINSTON 1, WILSON BEDDINGFIELD 0: At Kinston, the Vikings knocked off the Bruins and are a win away from sharing the Eastern Plains 2A Conference title.
Hannah Vermillion scored on an assist from Shannon Mayo with about 9 minutes left to play. The Vikings outshot Beddingfield 9-4.
Kinston (4-9-2, 3-2-0) hosts league-leading Tarboro tonight at 7 for a chance to share the conference title.
BASEBALL
SOUTH LENOIR 11, CLINTON 1, 5 INN.: At South Lenoir, the Blue Devils scored eight runs in the fifth inning to put the East Central 2A Conference game away.
Grant Tyndall went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and scored two runs, Garrett Holland went 2-for-3 and drove in three runs, Will Graves went 2-for-2 and scored three runs, Brett Davis drove in two runs and Jake Villabona had an RBI for South Lenoir.
Wyatt Janning held the Dark Horses to three hits, struck out five and gave up one earned run — a home run to Jacob Taylor in the third.
The Blue Devils (10-9, 7-6) wraps up league play at home against East Duplin on Friday.

SOUTH LENOIR 16, CLINTON 0, 5 INN.: At South Lenoir, the Blue Devils routed the Dark Horses in a conference game. No other details were reported.
South Lenoir (16-3, 10-2) hosts Richlands on Thursday.
ERWIN TRITON 4, NORTH LENOIR 2: At Triton, North Lenoir saw its season end in the first round of the Eastern Carolina 3A Conference tournament. No other details were reported.

SL BOYS FINISH FOURTH IN EC2A CHAMPIONSHIPS: At Swansboro, the Blue Devils finished fourth in the East Central 2A Conference championships.
