Greene and Lenoir counties will be well represented today in Greensboro.
A slew of participants from Greene Central, Kinston and South Lenoir high schools will vie for several NCHSAA state 2A individual track and field championships today at N.C. A&T University.
Six individual girls and two relay teams will compete for the ladies’ titles while nine individual boys and four relay teams will compete for the males.
Greene Central has two girls and four boys competing along with two boys relay teams. Kinston has two girls and a relay team, and three boys and two male relay teams competing.
South Lenoir has two girls, two boys and a girls relay team in the championships.
Each qualifier finished fourth or better in last weekend’s regionals at Wilson Beddingfield.

Kinston

Boys — Daequon Carr, 200-meter dash; Chris Bell, 800-meter run; Jeremy Taylor, triple jump; 4-by-400-meter relay team (Reggie Lewis, Denzel Keyes, Bell, Keith Haynie); 4-by-800-meter relay team (Bell, Nick Frankfort, Keyes, Tajahn Williams).
South Lenoir
