The following decisions were reached in Lenoir County superior court in April, 2013. The presiding judge was the Hon. Jack W. Jenkins. Matters may be resolved as the result of a guilty plea or dismissal negotiated with the district attorney without a trial. Matters may also be resolved as the result of a trial during which the judge dismisses the case for insufficient evidence or renders a verdict of innocence or guilt. In any case in which a guilty plea or verdict is entered, sentencing is determined by the judge:
Ronald Barrow, larceny, pleaded not guilty, found guilty, sentenced to 45 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
Shawn NMN Howard, larceny, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 18 months supervised probation.
Ronnie Basden, larceny, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months unsupervised probation.
Larry Coward, five counts indecent liberties with a minor, pleaded not contest, (consecutive) sentenced to 19-23 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 60 months supervised probation, nature of case. Remain on sex offender registry for 30 years. Sex offender special condition of probation.
Lensey Dail, sell schedule VI, possess schedule VI, manufacture schedule VI, maintain dwelling for schedule VI, guilty, (consolidated) 6-8 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation; 10-12 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
Jonathan NMN Palmer, two counts larceny, guilty, sentenced to 28 days in the Lenoir County jail.
Joseph M. Wilson, assault inflicting serious bodily injury, larceny, pleaded no contest, (consolidated) sentenced to one day in the Lenoir County jail.
Victor Hall, assault, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 30 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 18 months unsupervised probation.
Christy Jarman, three counts obtain property by false pretense (consolidated), pleaded no contest, sentenced to 10-21 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
Prince Dupree, possess with intent to sell/distribute cocaine, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 8-10 months in the Dept. of Correction.
Calvin Wethington, possess with intent to sell/distribute schedule II, guilty, sentenced to 9-20 months in the Dept. of Correction.
Stevie L. Foster, attempted larceny, maintain dwelling, assault on a female, possess with intent to sell/distribute marijuana, assault govt. official, possess cocaine (consolidated), guilty, sentenced to 9-20 months in the Dept. of Correction.
