LA GRANGE — A Wilmington man and two male passengers were transported to Lenoir Memorial Hospital after the driver lost control of his car on Sunday, Trooper Bud Radford of the N.C. Highway Patrol said.
The driver, Michael King Jr., 25, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 70 West from Raleigh at about 12:55 p.m. when he veered off the highway near Harold Sutton Road in La Grange. His car flipped over in a cornfield.
The three individuals in the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Radford said. One passenger suffered a head gash, according to a statement heard over radio communications.
King was charged with reckless driving.
