On Wednesday the Kinston Dept. of Public Safety charged Darrell Scott Koonce Jr. with robbery with a dangerous weapon, second degree kidnapping and assault by pointing a gun. These charges stem from an incident that occurred at 902 Sycamore Avenue, Kinston on April 16.
Koonce is currently incarcerated in the Lenoir County Sheriff's Detention Center. An additional $150,000 bond was added to his previously set $100,000 bond.
On May 31 at around 11:29 p.m., members of the KDPS responded to a disturbance call at 422 East Washington Avenue. Officers were told by a male and female victim they had been robbed. Two suspects, Darrell Scott Koonce of 406 Georgetown Road and Keno Terrel Williams of 711 West Highland Avenue attempted to flee the area but were apprehended by officers.
At that time Koonce was charged with robbery and resist, obstruct and delay, while Williams was charged with robbery, resist, obstruct and delay and assault by pointing a gun. Williams was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a $150,000 bond.
