The following decisions were reached in Lenoir County district court in May, 2012. The presiding judge was the Hon. Les Turner. Matters may be resolved as the result of a guilty plea or dismissal negotiated with the district attorney without a trial. Matters may also be resolved as the result of a trial during which the judge dismisses the case for insufficient evidence or renders a verdict of innocence or guilt. In any case in which a guilty plea or verdict is entered, sentencing is determined by the judge:
William Henry Barnes, possess marijuana up to 1/2 ounce, guilty, sentenced to 10 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 24 months probation; ordered to destroy evidence. Possess drug paraphernalia, case dismissed.
Nicole Alice Bland, allow unlicensed to drive, case dismissed.
Steven Matthew Callis, driving while impaired, guilty, sentenced to 60 days in the Department of Correction, suspended to 18 months supervised probation. Reckless driving/wanton disregard, case dismissed.
Elmer Earl Daughety, possess marijuana up to 1/2 ounce, case dismissed. Possess drug paraphernalia, guilty, sentenced to 120 days in the Department of Correction, suspended to 18 months supervised probation.
Cory Terrell Davis, resisting public officer, case dismissed.
Kimberly NMN Everett, simple assault, case dismissed. Possess marijuana, case dismissed. Possess drug paraphernalia, case dismissed. Possess malt beverage/unfortified wine not 19/20, case dismissed. Consume alcohol <19, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 24 months supervised probation. Aid and abet impaired driving, case dismissed.
Cody Duncan Garner, driving while impaired, guilty, sentenced to 24 months in the Department of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
Chris Shane Harrell, resisting public officer, case dismissed. Consume alcohol by <19, case dismissed. Chris Shane Harrell, two counts communicating threats, cases dismissed. Discharge firearm in city limits, case dismissed. Resisting public officer, case dismissed.
Cody Blaine Hill, possess malt beverage/unfortified not 19/20, pleaded no contest, issued prayer for judgement. Possess drug paraphernalia, case dismissed.
Andrew M. Jackson, profane language on highway, guilty, sentenced to 15 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 supervised probation.
