SPCA to hold Saturday event

The Lenoir County SPCA Adoption Team will hold a pet adoption event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Kinston’s new Tractor Supply store on Highway 70 at Skinner’s Bypass.

Persons interested in adopting can meet several of the shelter’s available dogs and also check out the new store.

“We really appreciate Tractor Supply inviting us,” said Kim Williams, Adoption Team chairman. “We’re not doing these events solely for adoptions, and we understand that many people are not in a position to adopt a pet at this time. We’ll be available with information about SPCA membership, donating, volunteering, how to report animal abuse or neglect, and spay/neuter.”

Anyone interested in volunteering can email the SPCA at lenoircountyspca@live.com. The shelter is on Rouse Road Extension (near the airport) and is open to the public from noon to 4 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays.
