A fire broke out after 8 p.m. Monday at the G.W. Piner Trucking & Repairs building in Jackson Heights. Sandy Bottom Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze, assisted by fire crews from Deep Run and Southwood. The building continued to belch smoke well after 9 p.m. as firefighters worked to clear smoke from inside the structure and extended "do not cross" tape across the property's rear entrance.
