Jennifer Ann Charlton and William Cameron Grady, both of Raleigh, were united in marriage at 2 p.m. June 29, 2013, at Faith Fellowship Church in Kinston. Dr. Randy Spaugh and Pastor John Robert Harris performed the covenant ceremony.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Duncan and Lois Charlton of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Willis and Ann Crawford of Bell Arthur, and the late John and Erma Charlton, who lived in Kinston.
A graduate of ECU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and a focus in print journalism, she is a customer service representative with Fidelity Bank in Raleigh.
The groom is the son of Bill and Donna Grady of Kinston. He is the grandson of Shelby Skipper of Hampstead, the late Fred L. Baker, and the late Charles Leland and Lucy Taylor Grady, all of whom lived in Kinston.
A graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, he is a pilot and operations specialist with Etix ticketing company in Morrisville.
The bride wore a strapless sweetheart beaded neckline wedding gown with rouching and beading on the waistline. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies and white roses.
The maid of honor was Natalee Choby of Raleigh.
Bridesmaids were Meghan Thompson and Stephanie Nobles of Raleigh; Jessie Gilman of Lynchburg, Va.; and Heather Watson of Altavista, Va.
The groom’s father served as his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Everett Charlton of Kinston, brother of the bride; Will Grady of Kinston, brother of the groom; Josh Kennedy of Kinston; and Ryan Davis of Goldsboro.
The wedding was directed by Margaret Spaugh of Kinston. Wedding planner was Hilary Hardy Lucas of Kinston.
Program attendants were Morgan Outlaw of Kinston and Courtney Gilman of Lynchburg, Va.
Register attendant was Vanessa Burge Soffe of Raleigh.
Scripture reader was Carrie Dunn of Raleigh.
Wedding music was provided by soloists, Laura Thompson of Swansboro and Pam Respess of Kinston, soloists; and Clay Whittington of Kinston, pianist.
Following a wedding trip to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Raleigh.
Reception/parties
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Falling Creek Country Club. DJ Harvey Grady entertained guests.
On April 27, a couple’s cookout shower was given by Tom and Jo Ann Proctor at their home in Raleigh.
On May 5, a shower was given by Margaret Spaugh and Terry Barnes and members of Faith Fellowship Church.
On May 18, a lingerie shower was given by Hilary Hardy Lucas.
May 17-19, a bridesmaids’ bachelorette beach weekend took place at “The Point” in Emerald Isle. A bridal dinner was given by the bride’s grandmother, Ann Crawford, for the wedding party at Riverside Steak and Seafood in Swansboro.
June 21-23, a bachelor weekend for the groomsmen was held at Wrightsville Beach on the “Migration,” the private yacht of Travis Janovich.
On June 28, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Olivia’s at Frenchmen’s Creek in Kinston. Following the dinner, there was a rehearsal dance with music performed by Millenia Funk’n Band, sponsored by Edwin and Karen Dale, Claude and Betty Davis, Creig and Debbie Foss, Bill and Phyllis Gay, Marie Gerrans, Travis and Carrie Janovich, Angela Johnson, Mike and Ginger Johnson, Graham and Vickie Knott, John and Lucy Marston, Mike Morris, Nan Morris, Ken and Sandra Rayner, Keith and Marilyn Rouse, Sandy and Jessica Shimer, Paula Shreves, Shelby Skipper, Susan Smith, Melissa Whealton and Styron Wood.
