KDPS crime campaign set for today

Howard-Carter Funeral Home has donated $300 to the National Night Out campaign, planned for 6 to 8 p.m. today by the City of Kinston Department of Public Safety. The event will be at Southeast Park, off Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between East Bright and East King streets.

This donation will enable KDPS to serve food items during the annual event that focuses on police and community partnerships involving crime prevention. KDPS will share information on keeping you and your family safe. Free tickets will be given to children younger than 18 years old for a visit to the Woodmen Community Center’s Lions Water Adventure.

For more information, call KDPS at 252-939-3139.

Free school supplies and hotdog lunches will be given out to youth in the community. Christopher L. King will be the guest speaker for this event. Students must be present to receive a school supply bag.
