Maysville woman jailed after allegedly stabbing another woman

MAYSVILLE — A Maysville woman is in custody after being accused of stabbing a woman in the middle of the road Monday night.

Georgia Hill, 51, of Hill Road in Maysville, was charged Monday by the Jones County Sheriff’s Office with a simple affray charge and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, according to court officials.

Hill is accused of getting in an altercation in the middle of Hill Road with another woman. The two women “did assault and strike each other by stabbing each other multiple times with knives while struggling during an argument,” warrants stated.

According to officials, the dispute was domestic and Hill and the woman were the only two involved.

Hill is accused of assaulting the other woman with a pocket knife, according to warrants. Officials at the Jones County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to the call shortly after 9 p.m. and the other woman was transported to Carteret General Hospital. Both women suffered minor, non life-threatening cuts. Hill was treated by emergency crews for a minor cut at the scene.

Hill’s bond was set at $30,000.

Officials said Tuesday afternoon that the incident is still under investigation.
