Mr. and Mrs. Gary A. Jones of Kinston recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with their children at a dinner at Parker’s Barbecue Restaurant. The couple also celebrated with a trip to Williamsburg, Va.
The couple has three children — Jonathan A. Jones and wife Courtney of Murfreesboro; Rylan A. Jones and wife Ashley, and Miranda Jones, all of Kinston. They have three grandchildren — Katelyn, Claire and Kensi Jones of Murfreesboro.
Mrs. Jones is the former Yvonne Carter of Kinston. She was a marketing/business teacher and is retired from South Lenoir High School. Mr. Jones was a history teacher and also is retired from South Lenoir.
The couple was married June 10, 1973, at West Road Pentecostal Holiness Church in Kinston by the Revs. J.D. Thigpen and Wayne Pittman.
