Two girls — ages 7 and 9 — were allegedly sexually abused by their great-grandfather Wednesday at their home on U.S. 258 North.
“(Their mother) reported that her juvenile daughter(s) was touched inappropriately, in a sexual way, by her grandfather, who was visiting from California,” said Woody Spencer, spokesman for the Kinston Department of Public Safety.
The alleged abuse was discovered around 8 p.m. and reported to authorities Thursday afternoon.
According to the incident report, possible charges include sexual battery and indecent liberties with a child.
No one has yet been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.
