Sarah Bendle, Donna Milhorn and Dr. Mark Benson heard there was a need in the community and found a way to help meet it.
They opened their hearts and pocketbooks and added 20 hardback books, three games and three puzzles to a donation effort underfoot for the N.C. State Veterans Home on Hull Road.
Bendle and Milhorn are librarians at Gordon Street Christian Church, where Benson is pastor.
