Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Oliver of Pink Hill celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary Aug. 21, 2013. The couple has two children, Mike Oliver of New Bern and Mitch Oliver of Sneads Ferry; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Oliver is the former Etta Rae Tyndall of Jones Town. She is a retired school teacher from Brinson Elementary in New Bern. Mr. Oliver is retired from Colonial Grocery Store in New Bern and as pastor of Alum Spring Baptist Church in Alum Spring.
They were married Aug. 21, 1947, at Spillman Baptist Church in Kinston by the Rev. Lacy Oliver.
