Library’s iPad drawing receives corporate sponsors
The Kinston-Lenoir County Friends of the Library is sponsoring a drawing to give library patrons the chance to win an iPad. Self-Help Credit Union and Affordable Care, Inc. have agreed to be the corporate sponsors.
“Self-Help Credit Union is happy to support this project because it directly benefits all children throughout the community,” said Ashley Pierce, branch manager.
The contest will take place during September, with the drawing taking place at 3 p.m. Sept. 30 in the library’s Brody Conference Room. It will be open to the public.
“The Neuse Regional Library plays a vital role in helping our area children stay excited about reading and learning. Because literacy is the foundation to any successful career, we hope that our sponsorship provides a special opportunity that will change a life forever," said Shannon Foscue of Affordable Care, Inc.
Tickets -- $2 each or $10 for six -- are available at the Circulation Desk of the Kinston, Pink Hill or Greene County libraries, and from Friends of the Library Board members. All proceeds will go to the Kinston-Lenoir County Friends of the Library to support children’s programming and literacy.
"The Kinston-Lenoir County Friends of the Library are always grateful for our corporate sponsors, and we are also grateful for the support of the rank-and-file citizens of our community," said Mike Parker, president of Friends of the Library.
Wilma Boldt, Friends of the Library vice president and chairwoman of the Corporate Sponsorship Committee, added: “Our motto for this project is, if you get children interested in reading books, they will be reading for a lifetime.”
