LA GRANGE — La Grange Christian Church is teaming up with 902 Church in an effort to raise money for The Refuge camp.
Jason Wade, who is a part of La Grange Christian Church group Jump Start, said the concert has been in the works for a while.
“It’s something we have wanted to do for over a year now,” Wade said.
Wade said Jump Start will perform first, then Sammy Hudson, director of The Refuge, will speak and the night will finish with a performance by the 902 band Souls Devotion.
He said there will be hot dogs, drinks and baked goods for sale. All proceeds will go to The Refuge.
Wade said the concert is also part of an effort to get people to come to church on Sunday for Going Back to Church Sunday.
“We are trying to reach out to the unchurched,” Wade said.
The Refuge is a Christian camp located on the border of Lenoir, Pitt and Greene counties.
Hudson said they offer camps for special needs kids and church retreats among many others.
“Our main objective is to share the hope of Christ with kids,” Hudson said.
Hudson said the camp is financed entirely by churches and members of the local community.
“Without the help of our local churches, we couldn’t do it,” Hudson said.
A love offering will be taken for the camp at the end of the night.
