Kinston native Paul Whittington, with HHC 449 TAB, North Carolina Army National Guard in Morrisville, recently was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
Whittington, who has been serving in the NC Army National Guard since 2008, is the son of Linda Whittington and Mike Whittington, both of Kinston, and the grandson of Bill and Mary Whittington and Sonia Koonce, all of Kinston, and the late Clayton G. Koonce Jr.
A 2008 graduate of Kinston High School, he is enrolled at ECU as a business management major.
