The yearbook and newspaper committee of the Eastern North Carolina Home School Organization visited The Free Press on Thursday for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at how the newspaper is put together on a daily basis. The group, part of KLASS (Kids Learning All Sorts of Stuff), met editors, writers, photographers, advertising and circulation personnel. They also had a chance to become ‘reporters for a day,’ writing a story about one of their classmates. The class and their parents included, front row, from left, Caleb Brooks, Aaron Williams, Nathan Brooks, Lilah Rouse, Stephen Marshall, Rachel Lemon, Rebekah Lemon, Kirby Ballard and Jacob Brooks; back row, Alesia Williams, Matthew Lemon, Will Rouse, Harper Ballard, Susanne Ballard, Luke Brooks, Joi Lemon, Kerri Brooks, Tonyu Suggs and Alexander Suggs (being held by Tonyu). Would you like to visit The Free Press or have a reporter or editor visit your classroom? Send Free Press Editor Bryan Hanks an email at Bryan.Hanks@Kinston.com or give him a call at 252-559-1074.
