Senior Demeyia Adams put the Blue Devils on her back with 17 points, 17 rebounds, three steals and three blocks Wednesday night, as SL beat Richlands. Hanna Meready and Meosha Franklin each had seven points, while Hailey West and Marquia Suddeth added six points, respectively. D’Leah Epps also had four points for South Lenoir.
The Blue Devils are 1-1 and travel to Spring Creek tonight.
Boys’ Basketball:
SOUTH LENOIR 70, RICHLANDS 35
Four players were in double figures for the Blue Devils in Tuesday’s win over Richlands. SL outscored Richlands 24-8 in the third quarter and 42-15 in the second to beat the Wildcats in their own season opener.
Jonta Midgette led the Blue Devils’ scoring with 16 points; Dion Jones had 15 Jadarius Mickins and Dominic Williams each had 14.
South Lenoir (3-0) made six 3-pointers and will play Spring Creek tonight.
