On Saturday, the Lenoir County Farmer’s Market held one of its most anticipated events of the year, Chef Vivian Howard’s Thanksgiving cooking demonstration.
Howard, co-owner of Chef and the Farmer, focused on side dishes during this year’s demo including a farro and cranberry salad and bourbon and star anise candied yams topped with crispy country ham. In addition to her prepared sides, Billy Taylor of Wayco Hams in Goldsboro was on hand with smoked turkey and country ham.
After the presentation, attendees visited with Vivian Howard, posed for photos and talked with her about her reality show, “A Chef’s Life,” which airs on PBS.
