Benefit planned for Mike Pridgen
A barbecue or barbecue chicken plate for $7 can help aid a local man recovering from brain surgery.
A benefit for Mike Pridgen will be held Dec. 6. Plates will be sold from 11 a.m. until locations are sold out.
Organizers said Pridgen is recovering from brain surgery to remove a tumor that has left him blind. Pridgen began losing his vision in May and was also diagnosed with diabetes during this time. In August, he went to a retina specialist in Greenville who diagnosed him with a mass on his brain. Surgery to remove the tumor was performed on Aug. 29, however, his vision has not returned. Mike is self-employed and unable to work due to his vision loss. Mike is married to Natalie Outlaw Pridgen and they have two children, Alex and Josey.
