Roundup: Mt. Calvary takes out Heritage

Marcus Alston scored 22 points and added 12 rebounds and George Alston added 22 points, 12 rebounds and five assists to lead Mt. Calvary to a 67-59 win over Zebulon Heritage Christian on Friday.

Craig Pope added eight points and 12 rebounds, Britt Harris had six points, five assists and four rebounds and Kyle Wright had nine points and six rebounds for the Warriors.

Their next game is on Tuesday at Jacksonville Fellowship Christian.

 

CLAYTON CLEVELAND 62, NORTH LENOIR 46: At Cleveland, the Rams handed the Hawks their first Eastern Carolina 3A Conference loss of the season. North Lenoir is now 9-8 overall, 4-1 in league play. No other details were reported before deadline.

 

PAMLICO 94, JONES SENIOR 88: At Jones Senior, the Hurricanes knocked off the Trojans in the high-scoring affair.

Jermicis Brown scored 29 points to lead four in double figures for Pamlico (7-8, 3-1 Coastal Plains 1A), which trailed by 19 in the second quarter.

 Miguel Foy scored 39 points and hit six 3-pointers for Jones Senior (6-9, 2-2). Glen White scored 16 and Eric Dudley added 14 for the Trojans.

CLAYTON CLEVELAND 50, NORTH LENOIR 26: At Cleveland, the Rams kept the Hawks from winning their first league game. North Lenoir is now 2-15 overall, 0-5 in the EC3A. No other details were reported before deadline.

 

PAMLICO 42, JONES SENIOR 40: At Jones Senior, the Trojans failed to pick up their first league win in a buzzer-beating win for the Hurricanes.

Pamlico’s Brianna Jones’ floater in the lane fell through as time expired. Jones scored 20 points, including nine in the fourth quarter.

Ashley Brimage led the Trojans (4-11, 0-4) with 18 points.

 

JV GIRLS BASKETBALL

 

MT. CALVARY 23, ZEBULON HERITAGE CHRISTIAN 15: At Mt. Calvary, the Warriors earned the low-scoring win. Brook Wilson scored four points and added four steals, Haley Cannon scored three points and added six rebounds, two assists and two steals and Sarah Suggs had 13 points, five steals and six rebounds.
