Cherry Energy, in partnership with BP North America and Lenoir Memorial Hospital, has just completed the third year of the company’s awareness campaign to educate citizens in Lenoir County on the topic of breast cancer prevention. In celebration of this effort Cherry Energy presented a $6,500 check to the Lenoir Memorial Hospital Foundation. Since inception the campaign has contributed $24,500 to the Foundation.

The campaign is centered around Cherry Energy’s pink delivery truck that can be seen year-round making deliveries in the community.

“The truck is our rolling billboard to remind the residents of Lenoir County of the importance of breast cancer education. Many of our close friends and customers have been affected by this disease. We care about the health and wellness of our employees and the people we serve every day,” said Jay Cherry, president of Cherry Energy. “For every gallon pumped from our pink delivery truck, a portion of the proceeds will go towards breast cancer awareness and prevention, right here in Lenoir County.”

Cherry Energy serves central Eastern North Carolina with fuels and environmentally friendly energy solutions. Founded in 1928 the company remains family owned, with a customer base that includes homeowners, industry and agriculture.
