A Henderson man alleged of committing felony assault and kidnapping was placed behind bars Thursday.
Robert Louis Etheridge, 39, is accused of assault with a deadly weapon intending to inflict serious injury and first-degree kidnapping, both felony charges..
The incident in question allegedly happened Nov. 29 around 9:37 p.m. at a Mitchell Wooten Courts apartment.
Witnesses told responding officers that Etheridge and his girlfriend were in an argument when he drove off in a car, leaving her hanging on to the vehicle.
Later, officers found the woman lying on Mewborn Avenue. She told them Etheridge held her in the car without her consent and later threw her out of it.
“He turned himself in to (the Kinston Department of) Public Safety and was placed in jail under a $150,000 bond,” KDPS spokesman Woody Spencer said.
