The following is a press release issued by the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office:
At about 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, a black male wearing a mask entered the Crossroads Grocery at 1520 Hugo Road, Kinston. The suspect was brandishing a small handgun and demanded money and cigarettes.
The clerk complied and the suspect fled the store, running to a silver two-door vehicle parked on the west side of the building. The suspect was last seen traveling westward on Taylor Heath Road toward N.C. 58.
The suspect in this incident is believed to be the same person that robbed the North Lenoir Store approximately two weeks ago. A photograph of the suspect is attached to this press release.
Anyone with information that could lead to an arrest is asked to call the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office at 252-559-6140.
Sheriff Chris Hill is offering a $1,000 reward for information in regards to these incidents.
