A car overturned Saturday afternoon off Canady Road near N.C. 11, sending its driver to Lenoir Memorial Hospital. An unidentified woman was driving a Honda coupe southbound around a curve by T-N-T Poultry Farm when she crossed the center line, ran off the road and into a ditch. The car continued into the weeds and is believed to have overturned at least once. Officials with the Hugo Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene with three fire trucks; Lenoir County EMS sent an ambulance. The incident was under investigation by the N.C. Highway Patrol at press time.
