An accident involving two Buicks sent an adult and a child to the hospital Thursday morning.

The vehicles collided at around 9:08 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of N.C. 11 and Dunn Road in Kinston.

A light blue Buick was heading northbound on N.C. 11 when a silver Buick pulled into the northbound lanes from Dunn Road, attempting to cross the median and turn southbound, according to Kinston Department of Public Safety Officer Chuck Coulombe.

“Two were taken to the hospital — one adult driver, then there was a little kid who was taken, just for precautionary reasons,” Coulombe said. “He was checked out at the scene, but there were no injuries. He was all right.”

The driver of the light blue Buick, Carol Ann Davis, 31, of Kinston, was transported to Lenoir Memorial Hospital by Lenoir County EMS. Paramedics treated and released at the scene the driver of the silver Buick, Rosie Outlaw, 71, of Kinston.

Coulombe cited Outlaw for an unsafe moving violation.
