The following information was provided by the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office and the Kinston Department of Public Safety:
On Jan. 3, a woman on East Washington Avenue, Kinston, reported someone entered her occupied residence at night and stole a 42" LG TV valued at $800. Damages to a window were estimated at $200.
On Jan. 9, a woman on Old Snow Hill Road, Kinston, reported someone forcefully stole the following from her: A Kel Tec 9mm handgun valued at $299.95; a Nexus tablet computer valued at $249; cash totaling $250.
On Jan. 9, a man on Braxton Road, Grifton, reported someone broke into his residence and stole the following: Corn flakes valued at $1; saltine crackers valued at $1; paper plates valued at $5. Damages to a door frame were estimated at $50.
On Jan. 10, a woman on Den Drive, Grifton, reported someone broke into her residence and stole the following: Love perfume valued at $50; an Apple iPad valued at $200; a Dell laptop valued at $250. Damages to a door/furniture valued at $200.
On Jan. 11, a woman on Institute Road, Kinston, reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend. Damages to a window were estimated at $200.
On Jan. 11, a representative of Piggly Wiggly on U.S. 258 North, Kinston, reported someone attempted to cash a fake check valued at $298.
On Jan. 11, a student at South Lenoir High School on Old Highway 11 South, Deep Run, reported someone slapped her in the face with an open hand.
On Jan. 11, a man on Fred Jones Road, La Grange, reported the following stolen: A Porter Cable tool set bag valued at $400 (recovered); a Porter Cable impact wrench valued at $100; a Porter Cable air impact wrench valued at $50; an impact drill valued at $120; a jig saw valued at $100.
On Jan. 11, a representative of Walmart on West Vernon Avenue, Kinston, reported receiving three counterfeit $20 bills and two $10 bills.
On Jan. 11, a woman reported the theft of a vehicle registration plate. The plate is valued at $28. The incident occurred in a parking lot on Mitchell Street, Kinston.
On Jan. 11, a man on East Vernon Avenue, Kinston, reported someone entered his residence through a window and stole the following: Canned goods valued at $15; a TV remote control valued at $15.
On Jan. 11, a man on North Adkin Street, Kinston, reported the theft of a red, black and silver scooter valued at $864.
On Jan. 11, a representative of Walmart on West Vernon Avenue, Kinston, reported someone stole an Apple iPad valued at $600. The item was later recovered.
On Jan. 12, a representative of Wilco Hess on N.C. 11/55 South, Kinston, reported someone drove away without paying for $40.
On Jan. 13, a woman on Red Oak Drive, Grifton, reported the theft of a purse. The purse is valued at $40.
On Jan. 13, a woman on Poplar Drive, Grifton, reported the theft of a wallet valued at $75. The wallet contained $120 cash and various financial/identification cards.
On Jan. 13, a man on Starburst Road, Kinston, reported someone stole a box trailer valued at $10,00.
On Jan. 13, a man on Chestnut Street, Kinston, reported someone broke into his residence and stole a 19" Insignia TV valued at $150. Damages to a weather seal were estimated at $50.
On Jan. 13, a man reported an acquaintance verbally threatened him and punched him in the back of the head. No injuries were reported. The incident occurred at J's Bar on West Blount Street, Kinston.
On Jan. 14, a man on Edwards Church Road, Grifton, reported a dog bit him on the calf, resulting in minor injuries.
On Jan. 14, a woman reported her boyfriend choked her and pushed her against a wall. No injuries were reported. The incident was cleared by an arrest.
On Jan. 15, a representative of T&D Solutions reported copper wire had been cut/stolen from 14 service poles. The wire is valued at $300.
On Jan. 16, a representative of Sandy Bottom Church on N.C. 55 West, Kinston, reported the theft of a Road Master utility trailer valued at $2,200.
On Jan. 17, a representative of BB&T on Plaza Boulevard, Kinston, reported receipt of a counterfeit $20 bill.
