(The following decisions were reached between August and October, 2012).

The following decisions were reached in Lenoir County superior court in August, 2012. The presiding judge was the Hon. Paul Jones. Matters may be resolved as the result of a guilty plea or dismissal negotiated with the district attorney without a trial. Matters may also be resolved as the result of a trial during which the judge dismisses the case for insufficient evidence or renders a verdict of innocence or guilt. In any case in which a guilty plea or verdict is entered, sentencing is determined by the judge:
 
Earl NMN Barrow, food stamp fraud, guilty, sentenced to 5-6 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Tommy NMN Mitchell Jr., two counts obtain property by false pretense, guilty, sentenced to 6-8 months in the Department of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Shawntelle White, possess schedule II cocaine, guilty, sentenced to 6-8 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Dion Hall, second degree trespassing, guilty, sentenced to 20 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to six months supervised probation.
 
Christopher NMN Jackson, possess schedule VI Zanex, guilty, issued deferred judgement (90-96), suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Ashley S. Terrell, involuntary manslaughter/child abuse, pleaded no contest, consecutively sentenced to 20-33 months in the Department of Correction and 13-16 months in the Department of Correction.
 
Aliyah Brown, obstruction of justice, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 18 months supervised probation.
 
Orlando Moore, driving while license revoked, guilty, sentenced to 120 days in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.

Ricardo NMN Williams, possess stolen firearm, guilty, sentenced to 6-8 months in the Dept. of Correction.
 
Possess with intent to sell/distribute schedule VI, guilty, sentenced to 8-19 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Kyle Callicutt, obstruction of justice, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to six months supervised probation.
 
Desmond Pearson, assault inflicting serious bodily injury, guilty, sentenced to 21-26 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Andre Gooding, possess with intent to sell/distribute marijuana, guilty, sentenced to 5-6 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Cordero McCargo, indecent liberties with a minor, guilty, sentenced to 12-15 months in the Dept. of Correction, must register as sex offender for at least 30 years.
