Coworkers tap Meadows as Employee of Year
Jessica Meadows, preprint coordinator and graphic artist at The Free Press, was chosen as Employee of the Year for 2012 by her coworkers at the newspaper.
Meadows won a spot on the Employee of the Year ballot by being selected as an Employee of the Quarter during the year. Others chosen as Employee of the Quarter were graphic artist Judy Strickland, HR director Donna Wallace and circulation district managers James Johnson and Ty Thorne, who were both selected for their work in the fourth quarter.
“All the nominees deserve praise for their dedication and hard work,” Patrick Holmes, editor and publisher of The Free Press, said. “Jessica is a pleasure to work with. Her talent, her attitude and her willingness to go the extra mile for her coworkers and our customers make her particularly deserving of this award.”
Meadows, 23, has been with the newspaper for three years.
A native of Salt Lake City, she moved to the Lenoir County area with her family in 2004. She is a graduate of East Duplin High School and Lenoir Community College, where she earned an associate of arts degree in graphic arts and imaging technology in 2009. She was editor of the college newspaper.
She lives in Kinston and also works part-time at Potter Photography here.
