(AP) — A North Carolina woman who helped bring a 13-year-old runaway to Virginia for prostitution is due in court for sentencing.
Rachael Masingene of Charlotte pleaded guilty in September to conspiracy to transport a person across state lines for prostitution. She will be sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Richmond. Guidelines call for up to five years.
Police found Masingene, Whitney Hayes and Korey Reynolds with the teenager in a Henrico County hotel last May. The three females were working as prostitutes and providing their earnings to Reynolds. The adults had met the girl on the streets in Florida. They traveled from there to Charlotte, and then to the Richmond area.
Reynolds is serving a 10-year, 10 month sentence. Hayes was sentenced to four years, nine months.
