Superior court decisions

The following decisions were reached in Lenoir County superior court in December, 2012. The presiding judge was the Hon. Phyllis Gorham. Matters may be resolved as the result of a guilty plea or dismissal negotiated with the district attorney without a trial. Matters may also be resolved as the result of a trial during which the judge dismisses the case for insufficient evidence or renders a verdict of innocence or guilt. In any case in which a guilty plea or verdict is entered, sentencing is determined by the judge:
 
Amanda Tyndall, three counts obtain property by worthless check, sentenced to 30 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervised probation. Once money is repaid, transfer to unsupervised probation.
 
Takeish Samuels, possess drug paraphernalia, guilty, sentenced to 120 days in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Angelo Cobb, possess firearm by felon, guilty, sentenced to 12-24 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Curtis Cannon, attempt to obtain property by false pretense, guilty, sentenced to 6-17 months in the Dept. of Correction.
 
Ronald NMN Taylor, involuntary manslaughter, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 16-29 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Charles NMN Cox, carrying concealed weapon, pleaded guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail.
 
Travories Collier, no operators license, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 60 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Quinten Searcy, carrying concealed weapon, sentenced to 60 days in the Lenoir County jail.
 
Anthony Varcadysaine, possess firearm by felon, possess with intent to sell/distribute schedule VI, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 13-16 months in the Dept. of Correction.
 
Deontae Lender, breaking/entering, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 4-14 months in the Dept. of Correction.
 
Brian NMN Hall, larceny of firearm, possess stolen goods, guilty, sentenced to 6-8 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Terrell Jones, communicating threat, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Reginald Artis, common law robbery, guilty, sentenced to 15-27 months in the Dept. of Correction.
 
Ronnie NMN Cox, assault on a law enforcement officer/physical injury, guilty, sentenced to two terms of 4-14 months in the Dept. of Correction.
 
Jamall Pridgen, carrying concealed weapon, guilty, sentenced to 3-13 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Dontae Nobles, breaking/entering, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 3-13 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended  to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Allen Foye, possess with intent to sell/distribute marijuana, guilty, sentenced to 3-13 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
William NMN Moore, possess schedule VI (marijuana), guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervise probation.
 
Billy NMN Taylor, drug paraphernalia, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Edgar Alonso, breaking/entering, guilty, sentenced to 4-14 months in the Dept. of Correction.
 
Robert NMN Houston, possess meth precursor, guilty, sentenced to 20-33 months in the Dept. of Correction.
 
Heather NMN Thigpen, possess stolen goods, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
James NMN Best, burglary, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 12-15 months in the Dept. of Correction.
 
Tristin Rouse, possess marijuana with intent to sell/distribute, guilty, sentenced to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Damion Sutton, breaking and entering, guilty, sentenced to 6-17 months in the Dept. of Correction. Two counts  possess stolen goods, guilty, sentenced to 6-17 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation. Identity theft, guilty, sentenced to 6-17 months in the Dept. of Correction, suspended to 36 months probation.
 
Maria Cruz Ojeda, conspire to possess with intent to sell/distribute meth, guilty, sentenced to 4-14 months in the Dept. of Correction. Maria Fernada Ojeda, conspire to possess with intent to sell/distribute meth, guilty, sentenced to 4-14 months in the Dept. of Correction.
 
Tyricco Pitts, possess stolen goods, possess firearm by felon, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 10-21 months in the Dept. of Correction.
