Landon Letchworth and Seth Beard combined for a no-hitter as North Lenoir blanked Kinston 10-0 in five innings on Friday.
Letchworth went three innings, struck out nine and walked one in the season-opening win. Beard tossed the final two innings with a pair of strikeouts and two walks.
Sammy West was 2-for-3 with a double, a two-run home run and scored three runs, Justin Shimer went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Luke Jackson had two RBIs and Dylan Puchalski added a home run for North Lenoir (1-0).
The Hawks open Eastern Carolina 3A Conference play on Tuesday when they host Clayton Cleveland at 6 p.m. Kinston (0-1) will face South Lenoir at Grainger Stadium at 5 p.m. on Monday.
GREENE CENTRAL 5, SPRING CREEK 4 8 INN.: At Greene Central, the Rams opened their season with an extra-inning win.
James Head went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Kevin Ormond picked up the win in relief. He gave up one hit, one walk and one earned run in two innings.
The Rams (1-0) travel to Southern Wayne on Wednesday.
WEST CRAVEN 12, SOUTH LENOIR 1 5 INN.: At West Craven, an eight-run third inning coupled with seven Blue Devils errors did them in in their season opener on Thursday.
Will Graves went 1-for-2 and had the only hit for South Lenoir (0-1) while Grant Tyndall drove in its lone run on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. Garrett Holland gave up nine runs, two earned, on five walks and one hit in the loss.
The Blue Devils will play Kinston at Grainger Stadium at 5 p.m. on Monday.

NORTH LENOIR 20, KINSTON 0: At Kinston, the Hawks opened their season with a win.
Blythe Greene went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Kaci Letchworth was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Liz Deal was 2-for-2 with a triple and four RBIs. Nicole Robinson earned the win with five strikeouts.
The Hawks (1-0) host Clayton Cleveland to open Eastern Carolina 3A play on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Kinston (0-1) will travel to Jones Senior on Tuesday.
