LIVING HISTORY/Goldsboro
Following the December 1862 Union move against Goldsboro, Daniel Harvey Hill, brother-in-law to Stonewall Jackson, took charge in North Carolina. Hill met with frustration and then suffered a tragic personal loss. Based on actual correspondence, Doug and Terri Batson will give first person impressions of Gen. and Mrs. Hill to relate events that occurred 150 years ago this month. His website is dhill.org. The program is at 7 p.m. today at the Wayne County Museum, 116 N. William St. It is free and open to the public. Call 919-734-5023.
RED ROOM/Kinston
My Three Kilts will play live Friday, beginning at 9 p.m., at The Red Room, 220 N. Herritage St. Since 2007, the group has built a steady following on the N.C. Celtic scene from the mountains to the coast. Combining traditional Celtic influences and instrumentation with punk rock influences, ideals and attitude, the musicians play a unique brand of Celtic/Pub/Punk. Their shows are punctuated with blasts of music and interactions with the audience.
