The Distinguished Young Woman of Kinston-Greene County 2014 Scholarship Program will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Grainger Hill Performing Arts Center, 300 Park Ave.

Competing will be Molly Riddick, daughter of Mary and Michael Riddick; Sydne Marshall, daughter of Tonyu and Terrial Suggs; and Hannah Vermillion, daughter of Tom and Gayla Vermillion.

The evening will honor outgoing Distinguished Young Woman 2013 Sarah Albritton with a special and entertaining program. Several performers Albritton met during her year representing the local program, and past local winners and participants, will present specialty acts.

Last year’s participants will perform a “has-been” routine, and former winners and participants will perform as well.

Among the visiting performers are former Junior Miss winners and contestants Lauren Wiggins, Mary Bec Keith, Lauren Melton Lewis, Rebekah Shingleton, Diana Hardy, Jillian Raney and Rachael Delaney.

Emcees this year are Claire Hill, Kinston’s 2007 Junior Miss, and her father, Stephen Hill.

All tickets are $20 and will be available at the door. The only reserved tickets are for sponsors and parents of contestants.

This will be the final Kinston program, as the Kinston and Greene County programs are combining after this year’s competition.
