Ciara Marie Thigpen announces the birth of a daughter, Kayla Louise Thigpen, on Jan. 22, 2013, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston. Maternal grandparents are Bonnie Whitfield and David Whitfield Sr. of La Grange. Maternal great-grandfather is Albert M. Thigpen, also of La Grange.
