Food, tabs for Ronald McDonald House

Home is a place where families spend time together feeling safe and cared for. That’s the feeling The Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina in Greenville provides families when they go to stay.

The House lets families stay together at a low cost, and support one another while giving them a place to call home. When times are tough, that feeling of home is what a family needs to make it through.

In March, children from St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Nursery School dropped off food and 43 pounds of can tabs at the House, collected by children from the nursery school and people of the church. St. Mary’s Nursery School is a safe, nurturing environment where children are encouraged to discover the world around them. Children learn by doing in a Christian atmosphere.

Art projects, music classes and science instruction allow the children to explore through touch, taste, sound, smell and sight. Fine motor skills are enhanced as students enjoy a variety of activities. The students also benefit from expanding their developing social/emotional skills as they learn manners, verbalization of emotion, problem-solving and sharing. Whitney Grady is the director.
