‘Red Building’ to be dedicated today

Produce vendors will have a variety of summer vegetables today at The Lenoir County Farmer’s Market, including sweet corn, string beans, blueberries, tat soy, pointed head and napa cabbage, beets, squashes, an array of leafy greens, asparagus, the last of the strawberries, and whatever else is ripe.

The market is joining with the Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce for Business After Hours from 5:30 to 7 p.m., including the dedication of the “Red Building” annex, beside the market. Join the Market and Chamber staff and supporters for fun and entertainment, mingle with the vendors, and share in the building’s dedication in memory of Rick Holder, made possible by a donation from Felix Harvey and Myrtilla Harvey Brody in honor of their friend and business associate.

Plans will be unveiled for the building’s future.
