Mr. and Mrs. Donald Drew Humphrey recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Their children — Hermia Humphrey, Rikki and Farrah Owens, and Mark and Heather Carson — hosted an anniversary dinner May 18 at the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Humphrey is the former Hermia Jan Spence of Kinston.
The couple was married on May 27, 1973, at Bethel FWB Church by the Rev. David Paramore. They were the last couple to be married in the church’s old sanctuary.
