SEVEN SPRINGS — Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested three people Wednesday on methamphetamine charges after discovering a lab behind the residence.
Three juveniles who were found at the residence were placed in the care of the Lenoir County Department of Social Services.
Molly Annette Braxton, 22, and Winfred Adam Hansley, 30, were arrested at the location in the 4300 block of Outlaw Bridge Road and charged with manufacturing meth, possession of meth and maintaining a residence for controlled substances. They each received $60,000 bonds.
Jamie Dee Albritton, 27, was at the residence at the time and charged with possession of meth, receiving a $5,000 bond.
“It is a sad state of affairs when you have caregivers making meth around children,” Sheriff Chris Hill said in a statement. “Apparently these people care nothing for themselves or the children. It amazes me the length addicts will go when under the spell of this dangerous narcotic.”
Deputies seized 1 to 2 grams of meth, meth precursors, drug paraphernalia and called in the State Bureau of Investigation Clandestine Lab Team to dismantle and clean the area around the lab.
Each person charged is due in Lenoir County District Court on Aug. 1. Braxton has future court dates in four counties on charges of driving while license revoked and Hansley is scheduled to be in Carteret County on Sept. 23 for a misdemeanor shoplifting charge.
