A man allegedly broke into Oz adult novelty shop on West Vernon Avenue and made off with multiple blow-up dolls and pornographic magazines before he was caught.

Officers with the Kinston Department of Public Safety arrested Wallace Gibbs Eubanks, 27, for felony breaking and entering, and felony breaking and entering with larceny afterward. An incident report states Eubanks was intoxicated at the time.

“The officers received an alarm call — they arrived on the scene and saw the front door was broken out,” KDPS spokesman Woody Spencer said. “They looked at some surveillance video, and recognized the person. During that time, they called out the K-9 team. A K-9 officer found Mr. Eubanks in a vehicle in the parking lot — an old vehicle behind the novelty shop.”

According to the incident report, Eubanks was in possession of three novelty blow-up dolls valued at $128 and four three-packs of pornographic magazines. Damage to the store’s glass door was estimated at $400.

The merchandise was recovered at the scene.

Officers placed Eubanks in the Lenoir County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.
