MAYSVILLE — A Jones County woman is behind bars after police say she stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife on Monday.
According to a release from the Maysville Police Department, Lynnell Lanclos, owner and operator of Golden Child Learning at 404 Eighth St. in Maysville, was involved in a domestic disturbance with her husband, Joaquin Lanclos, at their residence on First Street.
When law enforcement officers arrived, they noticed Lynnell Lanclos was bleeding from her lip and had bruising on her face and arms. Lynnell Lanclos told officers that she and her husband had gotten into verbal fights that turned physical, police said.
After the dispute turned into a physical fight, Lynnell Lanclos left the residence. Upon her return, the altercation continued, and then she stabbed Joaquin Lanclos with a kitchen knife on the left side of his upper torso area, police said.
The knife missed Joaquin Lanclos’ lungs by less than one-half inch, according to X-rays, and required multiple stitches, according to police.
Lynnell Lanclos is facing a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, and Joaquin Lanclos is facing a charge of assault on a female.
Both are being held in Jones County Jail in Trenton on a 48-hour domestic violence hold and will be eligible to go before a magistrate on Wednesday for a bond.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Lynnell Lanclos assaulted a woman in a local fast food drive thru in front of the woman’s children, according to police. The assault caused severe facial lacerations that required stitches.
