WALSTONBURG — Two Hookerton teenagers have been arrested following break-ins at four Walstonburg-area businesses.

The incidents happened between midnight and about 6 a.m. Aug. 20, said Capt. Daniel Hawkins of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

The businesses include B&J Tackle Shop, Evan’s Corner, Club Showdown and a hardware store.

Hawkins said the shop owners did not leave money in their stores, but some bait from the tackle shop and a couple of cigars from the convenience store were reported missing.

The truck of one of the suspects, Martin Benjamin Murray, 19, of 316 S. William Hooker Drive, was seen in the area, Hawkins said.

When questioned, Murray and a second suspect, Christopher Michael Albritton, 17, of 1195 Morris BBQ Road, allegedly denied breaking into the businesses.

But Hawkins said he found tackle in the back of Murray’s truck which the bait shop owner identified as items from his store.

“Albritton turned himself in and confessed to all of it,” Hawkins said.

Both Murray and Albritton were each charged with possession of stolen property, four counts of breaking or entering and two counts of larceny after breaking and entering.

Albritton’s bond was set at $25,000 secured, while Murray was served a $50,000 secured bond because of his past criminal history.

Murray was also arrested about 9:30 a.m. the day before the break-ins for an assault on an officer and resist, obstruct and delay. He was released on a $2,500 bond.

In November 2011, he was convicted of felony break and enters and given for two concurrent probation sentences when he broke into the Hookerton Town Hall on July 15, 2011.
